ugc approved is better as it wii be internationally recognised. aicte is some kind of govt recognition but it will have no reciprocal approval internationally. aicte approval is used be deemed universities as a money spinner for the colleges. god only knows what is its value!

In a relief to hundreds of students enrolled in B Tech courses under now-defunct FYUP of Delhi University, the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has finally given its approval to 27 colleges to run the courses.

MBA/MCA – should be approved by AICTE , even if the offering institution is not accredited by the UGC. Similarly, any UGC recognised university can offer degree courses like BA,MA, BCom, MCom, BBA, Bsc, MSc, BCA without having to do anything with AICTE.

UGC approves universities in the country. It provides funds for affiliated universities and colleges. The AICTE is only a statutory body, which deals with co-ordinated development and proper planning of the technical education system in the country. The AICTE was established in 1945, and the UGC in 1956.
